Washington Desk Internship, Elections

This internship will support the Elections Unit at the Washington Desk.

• Sets up interviews

• Conducts story research for reporters and editors on Election 2012 coverage
• Sorts mail and answers phone
• Gathering of information and audio
• Logging interviews from reporter tape
• Assisting reporters and editors in script preparation and performing other duties on Newsflex, MTE and other software systems as needed

Candidates should be interested in the United States government and politics.

Preferred Skills:

• Strong research skills
• Computer literacy
• Knowledge of NPR programming

In addition to the regular application items, candidates must upload/attach a writing sample.
